A stunning TriBeCa loft. A Party. The late Nineties.
An actress playing a few too many roles,
A construction worker out of his depth,
A gossip columnist with a crisis of conscience,
A billionaire risking more than his career...
What happens when four people who should never have met suddenly collide?
"What's the matter, cash got your tongue?"

Synopsis: Steven Jasper is an American archetype, a real estate tycoon selling glitz and glamour at the expense of taste and integrity. Reevaluating after a painful divorce, Steven takes an interest in Jessica, a culture writer whose criticism of his work he finds challenging. An ambitious writer with a agenda of social causes beyond the latest society ball, Jessica resists uniting her personal life with those of the prominent set she writes about. She is similarly passionate about her longtime boyfriend Tom, a self-taught sculptor with a day job in construction, an unlikely match for her who grounds them both with his sincerity and humor.
But Jessica's lifestyle makes Tom uneasy. He's left cooling his heels in a bar for hours one night while Jessica conducts a late-night interview with Steven, and Tom succumbs to his darker impulses after edgy, sexy Erika serves him a few more than his limit. In a city where a waitress at one gala benefit might be on the guest list at the next, a good story in the paper makes or breaks a reputation, and even experts can't tell art from commerce, you don't have to be famous --yet-- to cause a Sensation.

"A promising writer whose mark is being made as we watch."
— Bob Jude Ferrante, Managing Director, New York Play Development Workshop

KATIE
by Nichol Alexander, directed by José Armando
Thursday-Saturday at 8pm, August 22-31

LONE DRIFTER
written and performed by Kevin Maher
Friday August 23 and August 31 at 8pm
Q: What do you do when your sketch group moves to L.A.?
A: Drink, dream and do a one-man show.

Kevin Maher stomps around the stage in LONE DRIFTER, his critically acclaimed "one-man sketch show." More than just monologues, it's a pride parade of deadbeats, shut-ins and swillbellys.

"You know you're watching good character based comedy when the laughs outnumber the jokes." Critic's comedy pick, Time Out New York, May 2002

"Awe-inspiring... like something out of Ernie Kovacs." NYTheater.com

"Kevin Maher is a shining example of truly independent humor and spirit. Not only that, but he's actually funny." Lloyd Kaufman, president Troma Entertainment and creator of the Toxic Avenger

Feed the Herd Theatre Company was formed in late 1997. Their mission this season is to define the dimensions of perspective and how the medium of theatre can shift perspectives in character, story, and point-of-view. Past productions have included their annual Harvest and Stampede festivals, Seven Seconds and The Blank Line. In the Herd brand of theatre, nothing needs be what it seems. It seems to be what it needs.
